20 years International Business in Bad Mergentheim
We are still flashed about the enthusiastic feedback of our Dual Partners, Alumni, Lecturers, current IB students, and friends of the International Business program in Bad Mergentheim. Around 150 participants celebrated the last 20 years with us and we looked together into the future.
In the morning we started with the IB working group meeting with our Dual Partners, amongst others from Würth Group, ALDI SÜD, Schwarz Dienstleistungen, Knauf Integral, WITTENSTEIN Group, VS Vereinigte Spezialmöbelfabriken GmbH & Co. KG, NIVUS GmbH, F.S. Fehrer Automotive GmbH, Tecpoles GmbH and Franz Binder GmbH & Co. Elektrische Bauelemente KG.
After lunch the alumni of IB17 and IB18 were invited to dress in gown (Talar) and with a barett, to enter the stage and celebrate their graduation in presence which was not possible due to the Corona pandemic.
During the main celebration event we enjoyed very inspiring speeches and warm-hearted, personal reviews of life changing events of Prof. Dr. Gabi Jeck-Schlottmann (Rector Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) Mosbach), Deputy Mayor Andreas Lehr, District Administrator of Landratsamt Main-Tauber-Kreis Christoph Schauder, Prof. Dr. Axel Gerloff (Head of International Relations DHBW and first Head of Department of IB in MGH), Prof. Dr. Laetitia Radder - Doctor Commercii (D Com) Business Management (International Guest Lecturer), Prof. Dr. Jaideep Motwani (International Guest Lecturer), Karin Markert (Director Corporate Human Resources WITTENSTEIN Group), and Sebastian Behl (Alumnus IB07C, Head of Logistics & Services, ALDI SÜD, Helmstadt).

We are very thankful for all participants of the Testimonial Video with statements of Thomas Garz, Laureen Dosch, Tim Fischer (Würth Group), Laura Duda (VS), Karin Markert (WITTENSTEIN Group), John Juhasz (The Facilitation Partners GmbH, lecturer of IB), the double degree students Fiorella Vargas and Maria Jaimes from Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga, and the students from IB19C course. Key Take-aways of the event and the reflection of it:
Thousands of strong friendships have been built between our former students. Even several partnerships (private and business), (cross-continent) marriages and children are amongst the „life changing experiences“ of studying IB in Bad Mergentheim (and with/at our partner universities worldwide)!
Together with our Dual Partners we were able to successfully develop the study programm over the past 20 YEARS in order to adapt it to the current needs of the companies. And we are staying „agile“: during our „IB working group meeting“ and the panel discussion we collected the current developments, needs and wishes of the companies and the (potential) students to prepare our students together with the skills and experiences they need to be successful in the future.
Without the financial support of the STIFTUNG Pro DHBW Mosbach the event would not have been able. Thank you to all donors of the foundation.
Representing all colleagues involved:
Prof. Dr. Enrico Purle, Prof. Dr. Eva Boder, Prof. Dr. Rainer Jochum, Collegial heads of department BWL-International Business
